The Getty Villa is one of two campuses of The J. Paul Getty Museum. The Getty Villa is the mansion campus located in between Santa Monica and Malibu on the coast off highway 1. I went to visit The Getty Villa on a beautiful sunny day and it was such a beautiful travel experience I will not ever forget. If it is one thing I remember quite clearly, it would be the manicured gardens and intricate architecture. It’s an education center and museum mostly within the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria.
There are a lot of artifacts available to view both indoors and outdoors. You will walk through many beautiful floral gardens, water fountains, statues and more. There is also a gift shop and a cafeteria to eat upstairs.
If you love beautiful flowers and fancy architecture you will definitely enjoy your time at this place. I also do recommend Filoli which will be quite a similar experience.
This is a very beautiful museum and must-see place to visit because there is so much history to learn and you will love your stroll around this epic center. Don’t forget to visit the The Getty Center which is the other campus and an addition to the J. Paul Getty Museum located near Bel Air.
