Check out the latest discoveries below.
Tips, Tricks, & Beauty Gifts
Lately, I’ve been experimenting with various sprays for even application, including continuous sprays for the entire body and classic manual sprays. This allows me to apply hydration-focused toners more efficiently compared to dabbing them on my hand and then pressing them onto the skin. I’ve started using these toners with them lately:
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
Peach & Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence
Dermalogy by Neogenlab – Real Ferment Micro Essence
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution is great for exfoliating the skin in a way that isn’t too harsh. A great gift for all year around to shed off the damaged summer skin from the spring-summer rays to fall and winters dry skin days. The bottle comes with a twist pour nozzle but I like to spray it on so it goes directly to the targeted area rather than all over my hands or product wastage soaking a cotton pad.
Peach & Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence and Dermalogy by Neogenlab Real Ferment Micro Essence are hydrating toners with additional benefits that enhance the absorption of other skincare products, particularly serums. I also like to spray this all over before my serum and as a softener on my body for hydration without that thick lotion feel.
Now, let’s talk about serums and their application. One of the best methods for applying serum to your face and body is by using a silicone spatula. Silly as it sounds, but you really can apply that all over evenly reaching your back and using more product as silicone is non-porous and won’t absorb the serum unlike applying it with your hands in which the skin on your hands will absorb the product too.
I have two new serums that are now a part of my regimen currently only available here in the US. There are plenty out there similar worldwide, but check out the ingredients below and hopefully you’ll be able to find something similar.
Wake Me Up – Vitamin C Firming Day Serum
My Hero – Retinol Repair Night Serum
They both offer exceptional stability and effectiveness and I like how they’ve integrated various benefits unlike in the past where I used different brands and had to buy separate bottles for each benefit. Your serum will be safe and secure from light and air, which can easily oxidize and degrade the serum. This is because the serum is encased in a frosted, air-tight, airless twist pump bottle. It’s slightly transparent, allowing you to see the remaining product levels and avoid contamination.
I am enjoying LaserAway’s serums a lot but I’ve also used their face masks, face and body scrub, sunscreen, and face wash. If you are interested in these, you might also want to check out their other services ranging from lasers and facials. All of these are great pampering gifts for you and for someone especially for the holidays. I recommend trying out the Clear & Brilliant laser treatment, as it was my first service I picked here. And if and whenever you do go for your first time ever, you can get $100 off your first treatment with my referral code.
Home Essentials
I’ve been recently organizing and rearranging things, and I’ve been quite pleased with the calming effect of my new minimalist setup. Rearranging larger furniture and using opaque baskets or drawers for smaller items has helped create a more organized and clutter-free space. Psychologically, it has even changed my mind and mood a lot—I’m always looking to improve the environment around me.
Many of my beauty items consist of smaller pieces that used to clutter my table. However, I’ve now relocated them inside a closet with opaque doors. Organizing and having easy access to beauty items is essential. That’s why I opted for these stacking baskets with an open front, allowing me to retrieve and store items conveniently while maximizing vertical space with multiple stacked baskets. Now all my beauty items, brushes, and even my perfumes are all neatly organized in a section. I prefer placing heavy items at the bottom of the stack to provide stability to the entire unit, and this is where my entire perfume collection is located. One of the most recent additions to my perfume collection is Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, a scent I particularly enjoy during spring and summer but love year-round. Moreover, there is now a set available, making it a beloved choice for all, suitable for year-round use and perfect for holiday gifting.
Continuing on with organizing all things opaque, I’ve been also organizing the pantry with opaque baskets because placing anything wherever on a baker’s rack doesn’t look clean. I think after starting off with one project in organizing my beauty products has led me to the next and I’m glad how organized the open pantry looks now. This is an easy and great way to gift and help anyone else to organize and decorate the home. These baskets come in different sizes and colors, but I like to align the cube ones in three sections. I’ve also added other trays and basket sizes that were narrow, shorter, and larger to fit the look of the shelf.
Personal Care Presents
Other home-related and personal care items that make great gifts include the Simple Modern Insulated Tumbler which can keep your drinks hot this winter and great for cold drinks when the weather gets warmer again. If you don’t mind the weight of the insulated metal cups and have a good reason for it for the entire day you should get them, there’s ones that comes with handles, flip back top, and a straw depending on what design you get. And after you are done for the day and when it’s time to wash them you can get your soap from an automated dispensing soap machine that is motion activated. This one is versatile, you can do dish soap, hand soap, body wash, and even hand sanitizer. You know you always see this commercialized installed publicly but now you can have your own personal one at home. This dispenser won’t be enough for thicker consistencies like toothpaste but you can gift an amazingly high-quality tooth brush. My dentist always does everything high-quality even the toothbrush they give away on my cleaning visits. Which is why I switched over to the soft bristle Nimbus toothbrush that really cleans those hard-to-reach places. Thankfully it comes in a set with different colors and sizes you can always change and fall back to, just in case you have inconsiderate people using your own personal tooth brush to clean lemons they’ve plucked from the tree.
Tech To Try
I acquired two tech items this year for my laptop and computer, which I hadn’t previously needed but have now become essential as remote communication has become widespread. These two items are from really good brands too, first one is the Lumina 4K Webcam and the other is the Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with additional ports, if you or in my case only had a single USB outlet in the laptop. The webcam produces a high-quality picture and you can adjust the lights to both cool and warm. The Anker USB port boasts a fast response time and robust connectivity. It’s a valuable addition, especially if you only have a single port, although most laptops come with multiple ports.
Digesting The Discoveries
As the year comes to an end so quickly, I appreciate having had the time to make these discoveries and witness how they’ve contributed to my personal growth. In our busy lives, taking time to reflect on everything in between is crucial for gaining clarity, self-improvement, and a deeper understanding of things. While some of these things or processes may or may not suit your preferences, I hope you found something helpful. As the holidays approach, the greatest gift we can give others isn’t just an object but something that enriches their lives.
